Safari Cocktail

Image
The Safari Juice cocktail is an extravaganza of fruity-alcohol flavours – orange, lemon, mint leaves and a dash of Smirnoff Double Black. It's cool, trendy and has enough orange juice to pass for a refreshing breakfast beverage (but on the strong side). Get a glass full of crushed ice, add some mint leaves, some slices of lemon and a generous amount of orange juice, topping it up with a wee bit of Smirnoff Double Black.  This cocktail is ideal for hot days – the kind of days where it’s hard to eat anything heavy and you really don’t feel like moving around. It makes a nice, fruity pick-me-up to get you going.

Otsokrikri

There's a drink for every mood or occasion. That's why I do mixes meant to quench my thirst and spark my mood. This latest mixture is Otsokrikri, which means March in English.  The name doesn't denote a local selection though. It’s an abrokyire mix! Lol.  Let's get started. You need a Jameson Irish Whiskey, Sprite, Mint leaves, Lemon and my favourite crushed ice. Grab a glass of crushed ice, place some sliced lemons on them, beat your mint leaves and drop into the glass. Add a shot of Jameson and a generous amount of Sprite. Just stir and get a straw. VIRGIN

Cocktails are meant to tickle and leave an exciting taste on the buds making you lust for more, especially that hot, sunny and stressful day when you need a cool drink to pep you up. Think of this recipe and imagine how great it could calm your nerves. I call this Virgin. Naughty, naughty...Lol. It's because it's alcohol free.   Start the treat by crushing ice into a glass, add sliced lemon and a bit of mint leaves and just open a bottle of Sprite and pour into your glass...the initial gulp followed by staggered sips will calm all the stress in your system.  Try this combo and leave your comment in the section below.

Accra-Kumasi Mocktail

Image
Wondered and pondered over how to make that tasty mocktail without shakers and arrive at that two layer design that is still titillating? And what did you come up with? It's not possible right?... Haha.. It is!..here's how to generate that balanced, exotic taste for an Accra-Kumasi mocktail with the sweat dripping off the glass. Asking why I named this mocktail Accra-Kumasi? It's because Accra has got the sea and Kumasi has got vegetation...Annoying right??... Hehehe. Let’s get started. Grab a glass, pour your watermelon juice as a first layer and add some crushed ice. After, add your pineapple juice mixed with crushed ice settling nicely on top of the watermelon juice giving you sunrise-sunset look...and just dip in a straw...voila! Accra meets Kumasi!  Try this recipe and leave your comment in the section below.

The bloom cocktail is the best you could have during this Easter period. Going for a picnic, hanging out with friends and family or a chill time alone at home. My new experiment is the one to make the occasion complete. A tall glass of this sunrise with beads of sweat dripping, sets the tone for a sip which gives you a burst of flavours in the mouth. Bloom cocktail feels like fireworks as it goes down your throat and takes a ride through your body. Let me share my not-so-secret recipe with you.  Get your cocktail shaker or two cups, a big and a small one which creates a lock, drop three shots of passion fruit juice in there, add a shot of akpeteshie and crushed ice. Shake well for a balanced taste. Pour your mixture into a glass and add some mint leaves. Excite your taste buds this Easter; try out this recipe and tell me how you feel about it in the comment section.
